About Perth

Perth is a wonderful cosmopolitan city situated on the banks of Swan River and near the natural beauty of Kings Park. The city is the capital of Western Australia and it’s a treasure for locals and visitors, being the 8th most livable city and the sunniest capital city in the world.

Perth is knowns as "City of Lights", being nominated by the astronauts as the brightest spot on planet Earth. People from more than 200 different nationalities come to study, work and live here.

Western Australia is the fastest growing economy in Australia and Perth has become the regional headquarters for a number of large mining operations located around the state.

The city is also home to five universities: 4 public universities ( University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University) and one Roman Catholic university, University of Notre-Dame.

Perth is relatively isolated from other Australian cities and this contributed to the development of a strong local music scene and local music groups such as John Butler Trio, The Triffids, Pendulum, etc.

Perth is a live and walkable city, offering to its citizens and visitors the opportunity to explore and indulge in its attractiveness.
